Job Description

Position Summary: The Pipe Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing all pipe-related projects within the shipyard. With direction from the General Foreman, this position is responsible for the coordination and management of skilled labor to ensure timely and quality execution of each assigned task.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight on all pipe-related projects, as delegated by the General Foreman.
  • Coordinate the daily activities of skilled labor, offering guidance and instruction as necessary.
  • Ensure that projects progress in accordance with established timelines and quality standards.
  • Facilitate communication between different trades and departments to maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Monitor and document project progress, addressing any issues that arise promptly.
  • Uphold strict safety standards and compliance throughout the pipefitting operations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Pipe Supervisor or similar role within a shipbuilding or industrial environment.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing teams in a labor-intensive setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of pipe installation techniques, standards, and best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Committed to upholding the highest levels of workplace safety.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Active working environment within a busy shipyard, requiring both indoors and outdoors supervision.
  • The position may require standing for extended periods, climbing, bending, and lifting.
  • Must be prepared to work in various weather conditions and adhere to safety protocols.

Reporting:

  • Directly reports to the General Foreman or Yard Manager.
