Curtin Maritime was founded in 1997 by Captain Martin Curtin, a skilled tugboat operator and marine industry visionary. With his innate tenacity and a passion for the work itself, he set out to reimagine how marine construction and transportation could be done. “Good enough” and “How we’ve always done it” were all too common ideals as the standards in the industry. These ideals were seen by him as the barrier preventing the marine world from moving forward into the 21st century. Martin embraced three guiding principles to create this remarkable company: Efficiency, Innovation, and Integrity. These were the core principles followed to create a new company not held back by obsolete technology and outdated concepts.
Work began on building a distinguished fleet operated by skilled crews and supported by a high-performance team onshore. Over time, those ambitions became a reality. Now an industry leader, Curtin Maritime continues to be on the leading edge of what is possible.
Since the company’s inception, Leadership has continually placed a heavy emphasis on adhering to the three guiding principles: Efficiency, Innovation, and Integrity. For Curtin Maritime, these core values are the framework for our performance and operational excellence; proof of them is evident in our people and our fleet.
